The new urban campus of Booking.com opened its doors in Amsterdam. A unique collaboration of multiple architects and design firms has resulted in an inclusive workplace that is home to over 6,500 employees. The brand new working environment offers a diverse variety of spaces.
‘a diverse variety of spaces’
The building itself was designed by UNStudio, as lead interior architect HofmanDujardin designed an interior masterplan for the 65,000m² campus building. The headquarters combine the work of multiple international design firms, together they created an inspiring environment where employees and visitors will meet, collaborate, live, work and play.
‘micro-holiday destination’ breakout spaces’
Throughout the building there are 28 ‘micro-holiday destination’ breakout spaces, each themed on a place. Together with the larger connector spaces, they offer breaks from computer screens, allowing workers to collaborate, reset their minds and helping them to increase creativity and productivity.
‘each of them a true experience’
i29 developed 9 different breakouts with destinations like Amazon, Salar de Yuyuni, Capadocia or Victoria falls. Each of them a true experience: custom developed patterns of cracked salted earth on walls and flooring reminds to the world famous salt flat in Salar de Yuyuni. A soft color gradient on walls, floors and furniture makes you wander around the sun set in Cappadocia.
